Letters to Emma: Your smile
posted in Letters to Emma, Viewed: 775 timesOh Emma. I watch the changes in you with great joy. I saw your first laugh when I was feeding you one early morning at 2am. And then I made you first laugh when you were awake. As I change your diapers, I sing and dance for you which makes you happy. It’s your smile and laughter that makes my day. Your smile could make anyone’s heart melt.
But today you did something new. This morning as I sat in our rocking chair in our bedroom, I gave you your bottle of milk. Your father came into the room and started playing with Bart on the bed. Bart was growling in play as your dad rough-housed with him. You actually stopped drinking your milk and turned your head so you could watch and then started smiling. You are definitely taking notice of the world around you.
I’ve even noticed that recently on our daily morning walks, you smile quite a bit. You love the outdoors. I hope that never changes.
