She is coming…

posted in Pregnancy, Viewed: 494 times

I haven’t written in awhile. I’ve gone through a period of relaxation and perhaps self-reflection as Emma gets bigger. I’ve been focused on getting prepared and understanding what is happening to me and to her not to mention I’ve been pretty tired. I’ve been very fortunate in that I haven’t had any major discomforts (touch wood). But there is no doubt that things are progressing. I often can’t walk anywhere with any speed, in fact feeling the need to walk slowly and carefully. My right hip is starting to hurt as Emma gets bigger. If I get too excited and start talking quickly, I’ll even loose my breathe. But discomfort is nothing too me. I’ve already been through alot of physical pain so it would take quite a bit to beat that.

But something is different now. I feel restless. I can feel it deep inside of me. She is coming soon. Nothing seems interesting to me anymore. There is nothing of value to watch on television. Being on the computer seems boring. I can barely focus on reading. I just feel like going somewhere…doing something active yet I know I can’t do anything too active. I need to be on the move. The time is coming.

In 2 weeks, my doctor is sending me for a final ultrasound because she says the baby is big. I’ve always known Emma wouldn’t wait till her due date, July 22nd. There will be no surprise if this ultrasound, being done in week 36, will tell use that in another 1-2 weeks we will see our first baby.

Apparently big babies run on both sides of the family. I was born a month early and weighed 7lb 8oz. Puchchu weighed between 10-12 lbs. My Dad was also a big baby at 11 lbs. And my sister, Whitney, was induced 2 weeks early with her last 2 boys who both still weighed over 8 lbs.
